Hello here is a pair of shoes truly belonging in a shoe museum.. This is a pair of lace-up canvas high tops with leather soles an stacked leather heels. As can be seen in the pics (pls look at them enlarged) this is an un-used, hence "new old stock" pair with minimal (due to age) flaws such as slight yellowing or staining of the upper off white (cream) canvas tops, as seen on pics. From my research I've come to the conclusion that this is perhaps an occupational nursing? Pair of boots from the ca.

It has woven/braided cotton or silk? Shoelaces with tin aglets that when produced where plated (99.9% of it, is gone). The ends of the laces are beginning to show their age by faintly yellowing.

However there is no "dry-rot" going on anywhere. The upper very fine canvas top is nice and soft and very strong. There is not a single stitch out of place or missing.

The sewn on leather soles and nailed on stacked leather heels (apparently common practice of the time) were covered (brushed on) with a new product called "rubber" for protection! Again as seen on pics very minute spots are flaking off the leather here and there. Overall this is a very fine pair to be displayed just the way they are. On the inside wall another new tech. From the time-stamping the boots are stamped with the numbers 13 59920.

On the tip of the soles, hand written the numbers 13 - 48?? Anyhow, the shoes measure 8 3/8" from heel to toe and 2 5/8" from side to side and stand 8.5 tall. Please study the pictures carefully since they are part of the description (should I have failed to mention or describe anything else). I'll be happy to answer to the best of my ability any of your questions you may have regarding this wonderful pair of history.
